We love when our guests bring along their pets. They are such a big part of our wonderfully eclectic community.

Onsite cafe

Our onsite cafe is fully licensed

 Open:
Sunday – Thursday 8.30am – 5pm,
Friday – Saturday 8.30am – 7.30pm.

Swimming pool

We have 2 in-ground swimming pools for both adults and kids alike. There is plenty of deck space for sun-baking or opt to read in the shade on one of our lounge chairs.

Kid’s playground

Our playground is inspired by nature, offering an inviting place for kids to play with swings, balance beams, climbing blocks and more!

Camp kitchen

We have a large camp kitchen with an open plan and high ceiling. We have multiple stoves, ovens, sinks, a pizza oven, microwave, utensils and seating all available for communal use.

Whether you’re hosting a yoga retreat, organising a Wedding or celebrating a special occasion like a birthday – nestled away in lush Australian bushland, The Shala offers a versatile space to accommodate intimate gatherings or larger crowds.

BBQ area

We have multiple BBQ areas available around our communal areas. Utensils available on request.

Campfires

We are campfire friendly! We have everything you need to setup your own campfire or you can join in on our weekly communal campfires every Saturday night .

Laundry room

Guests are welcome to use our laundry facilities. We have washing machines, dryers, irons and a clothes line all available onsite.

Nature walks and bird watching

Our holiday park is surrounded by bushland. There are lots of beautiful walks at our very doorstep – that will lead you onto South Ballina Beach or the Richmond River, which sit on either side of our nature nook.

Fishing amenities

With both river and beach access – we are a fisherman’s dream! You can enjoy surf, rock and estuary fishing. We have bait and tackle available to purchase onsite and a cleaning table and hose area to clean your fish!

Whale & dolphin watching

At South Ballina Beach you will encounter dolphins and humpback whales in their natural habitat – as they migrate past the coastline between Ballina and Byron Bay. You can keep a look-out from the shore, or perhaps you’ll opt for an organised boat cruise.
